Print Typography: Book Design
This is a book cover and interior design for the publication, A Modest Proposal, by Jonathan Swift. We were tasked with engaging with the text visually through typography based on themes that we felt most strongly attracted to. I kept coming back to the idea from the text that children were multiplying and increasing and focused on the feeling of being overwhelmed by masses of small things. I used these little circle glyphs throughout the text, and they grow in number exponentially, so that by the end of the publication, the entire pages are filled with them, overcrowded, just like Swift’s satire on overpopulation.
